Uses
The hardware, software, and tools I actually use every day to write code, manage servers, and ship projects.
Hardware & System
Ryzen 7 8745H, RTX 4060, 16 GB RAM. Handles kernel compiles, Docker containers, and everything else I throw at it.
Rolling release. I install exactly what I need and nothing else. I have written an installation guide on my blog if you want to replicate the setup.
Development Environment
Version control. I commit often, write descriptive messages, and use branches for everything.
CLI tool I built that generates commit messages from staged diffs. I use it on every project.
CLI tool I built to scaffold a production-ready Django project in under 30 seconds.
Terminal & CLI Utilities
Keeps sessions alive when SSH connections drop. I run most long-running processes inside tmux.
Terminal prompt that shows git status, language version, and exit codes without slowing down the shell.
Lets me open PRs, close issues, and clone repos without leaving the terminal.
Fuzzy finder for files, command history, and git branches. I have it bound to Ctrl-R and Ctrl-T.
Replacements for ls and cat. eza shows file permissions and git status inline. bat adds syntax highlighting.
Sends files to the trash instead of deleting them. Saved me from accidental rm -rf more than once.
Terminal UI for git. I use it for staging hunks and reviewing diffs before committing.
Jumps to directories I visit often by typing part of the path. Replaced cd entirely.
Languages & Frameworks
I use Docker to run local databases and test deployment environments without touching the host system.
How I access every remote server I manage. I have a config file with host aliases for each one.
Primary database for all backend work. I use it for local development and production.
Caching and session storage on most projects. Also powers the task queue when I use Celery.
Used when I want server-rendered interactivity without a large frontend framework.
Lightweight JavaScript framework for sprinkling reactivity onto server-rendered pages.
I style with Tailwind utilities directly in the markup, which keeps layout changes close to the components they affect.
Builds native mobile apps for iOS and Android from one React codebase.
Apps & Productivity
Tracks time spent in each file and language automatically. I check it weekly to see where my time actually goes.
Vector graphics editor. I use it for logos, icons, and anything that needs to be scaled.
